Physiotherapist and coach at the Institut National des sports, (National Institut for Sport) Jean-Pierre Moreau is responsible for the discovery of the importance of postural work and for its teaching and training. Born in 1938 in Paris, he studied physiotherapy at the Hopital des Enfants Malade in Paris. He graduated in 1959. Along with Dr Dumas, doctor of the Tour de France, he creates the first sports medical unit at the Institut National des sports in 1964. At the same time, he started his own practice, where he began his studies on athletes in training. |
| In 1982 he set out a method of postures that became the basis of Stretching Postural and published his first book: "Le stretching ou la gymnastique de l'instinct". In 1985 he was a columnist for the French magazine Vital. He was a physiotherapist for the French table tennis team, motorcyclists and F1 pilots, and a coach for top level athletes. He also wrote his second book, "Le Stretching Postural", during this year. |
